Perhaps more than any great series of recent vintage, Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita has stubbornly refused to let the audience get a handle on just what kind of show it really is.

I’m starting to run out of ways to describe how Jinrui continues to amaze me.

This series is one of the most exquisite mind-benders in recent anime history.

Jinrui definitely rewards the viewer who wants to be challenged and likes to pay attention to what they’re watching. I wouldn’t want every series to be that way, but thank goodness we occasionally get one that meets the description as an antidote to the dozens that don’t.

Well now, even by Jinrui’s whacked-out standards I’m not at all sure what to make of that one.

In 22 minutes, Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita pretty much obsoleted Bakuman as a chronicle of the manga industry.

I can’t recall another anime that’s surprised me as often in three episodes as Jinrui has.
